Introduction
Hello learners,
Today, I would like to introduce you to the most exceptional employee anyone would be fortunate to have.
- He is the perfect engineer.
- He is well-versed in all technologies.
- He is responsive to requests.
- He does the work correctly the first time, without the need for a rewrite.
As you might have guessed by now, the perfect coder is neither a person nor AI. This coder is Divine. This coder is God. Let me use the analogy of the creation story in sharing my points.
The parallels
God was able to spot the problems
The Earth was without form. That was one big problem. There were other problems in the beginning which also existed. For instance, there was darkness, no dry land, and much more.
With the problems identified, God moved on to the next step.
God gave brilliant solutions
How did God solve the problem of darkness? He gave a power source that needed no re-charging- the Sun. His solutions were not just brilliant, they were for the long term.
The Sun has never needed to be recharged or fueled up. It provides its power inherently! The Sun’s power is an Open-source software, which we are all harnessing today.
God brought solutions quickly
He made the world in 6 days! At least that is the most widely accepted truth.
That is terrific speed, to say the least, and almost unthinkable to say the most.
If we were to re-create an entire planet then that is at least a millennium’s worth of work.
The efficiency of the solutions provided in so short a time is marvelous. He works within a schedule and beats deadlines that will put most of us to shame.
He involves client participation
When He wanted to name the animals of the Earth, He sought the participation of Adam. Adam then went on to name them. Come to think of it, we still named animals when we discovered new ones.
When Adam said he was lonely, and God listened, what was He doing? He was paying attention to the need of His clients.
Conclusion
We may not have the qualities of This Perfect Coder. However, it gives us the standards which we ought to aspire to.
I would also like to encourage us all to pick the four themes from the creation story. Let us apply it to our work.
- Let us discover the right problems.
- Let us give the right solutions and not the easy ones.
- Let us quickly execute the solutions.
- And finally, let us invite client participation and feedback.
When I look at the story of creation, and especially at how things fit perfectly then dawns on me. Every technology is in perfect sync. Nothing is out of place.
I am always looking to include these four themes when I work. Finally, I encourage you to reach out if you want my thoughts on anything related to technology.
